PTA Orthopedic Manual Certification (CMPTA)

85 Hours/6 Weekends/1x every 2 months

This Orthopedic Course Series is designed for Physical Therapist Assistants who work with orthopedic specialty Physical Therapists, work in a sports clinic, or want to better their orthopedic treatment skills. Per APTA and AAOMPT Guidelines, the course series curriculum will focus on soft tissue mobilization, taping, and exercise. The entire series is FPTA approved for 85 CEHs.

• KT Taping of the Spine and the Extremities 18 CEHs
• MET-1 Medical Exercise Training 16 CEHs
• ST-1 Soft Tissue Mobilisation of the Spine/Extremities 16 CEHs
• MET-2 Medical Exercise Training 16 CEHs
• Review/Integration of OMPT Concepts 16 CEHs
• Final Written and Practical Examination

Kinematic Taping Certification (KTCC)

32 Hours/2 Weekends

Kinematic Taping is a type of kinesiology taping technique developed by John Langendoen, a Maitland trained physical therapist. The 4-day/2 weekend taping certification (KTCC) combines manual orthopedic examination concepts paired with the specificity of taping techniques to decrease pain, improve mobility, inhibit/facilitate muscles, or immobilize a joint structure, such as a lateral ankle sprain.

*THE 2 COURSES ARE INDIVIDUAL AND DO NOT HAVE TO BE TAKEN IN ORDER.

• KT-1 Taping of the Spine and the Extremities – 16 CEHs
• KT-2 Advanced Spine and Extremities – 16 CEHs

95 HOURS/7 Weekends
